Community Fundraising
Community fundraising is one of the most effective ways of supporting the Consortium for Street Children because it enables you to raise vital funds as well as raising awareness about the work we do.
Schools
Whether you are a student, a teacher or a parent you have the opportunity to engage your school in the work of CSC.
Each November we mark the anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child. Throughout the year we encourage schools to hold events, seminars, assemblies and other activities to support the Realising Rights campaign.
Please contact us for more information. We would be pleased to send you a schools pack full of activities, fundraising suggestions and lesson plans designed to complement the national curriculum.
By holding a fundraising event you can raise money to support the work of CSC as well as raising awareness about the hardships they face.
Fundraising should be fun and it is a great way to bring members of the community together.

Organised Events
There are always events taking place around the country which you could use to help raise money for CSC. You could, for example, enter a fun run and ask your friends and family to sponsor you with the proceeds going to CSC. Here are some upcoming events in which you could take part:
Epsom Dash 5K, 4th October, £12 entry fee and set your own fundraising target!
Richmond Riverside 10K, 17th October, £16 entry fee and set your own fundraising target!
Faith Groups
Street children aren't part of a specific race, faith, class or caste: they come from all walks of life and all need our help. If you are a member of a faith group you may have the opportunity to raise awareness about what we do, such as giving a talk at your local church or mosque.
If you are interested in doing something through your faith group please contact us for more information.
Community Groups
Are you a member of a Rotary club? The Scouts? The Girl Guides? The Brownies? The Cubs?
Do you go a sports club? A book club? Play football on a Sunday morning with friends?
There are countless activities which regularly bring members of local communities together and these provide the perfect setting to spread the word about the Consortium for Street Children. Not only will you raise awareness but you could do something fun and raise money for CSC at the same time.
Here are some ways in which our supporters have raised money in the past:
- Themed club night
- Masquerade Ball
- Sponsored Walk
- Fun swim
- Asked for donations to CSC instead of birthday presents!
- Sponsored cycle ride
- Running the marathon

"Around the world there are millions of children living in poverty and squalor: typically they have no access to healthcare or education, and often have no security, no hope and no love.
They are street children - but above all children - who deserve the care and protection of adults. The Consortium for Street Children is their advocate and protector.
But we need to help CSC in order for CSC to help them. As you linger over dinner, or return home to fall asleep in your warm beds, please remember those millions of children who will not eat well - or even at all - this evening and whose only sleeping place is that of forbidding alleys or rubbish skips.
It is an enormous tak to undertake. It needs dedication, tenacity and, above all, money - the root of all progress."
