Who We Are
The strength of the Consortium for Street Children lies in its collaborative approach which ensures that partnerships are built wherever possible to maintain and develop this leading international member-based network.

Our Members
The Consortium for Street Children currently has 47 members, all dedicated to the welfare and rights of street-involved children and young people.
Our Staff
Duncan Ross, Executive Trustee
A Development Economics graduate, Duncan started his 30 year finance career in the development world in Asia and completed it as a Managing Director of JP Morgan in 2005. Since then he has dedicated his professional life to supporting street children and is a Founding Director of StreetInvest, one of CSC's newest members. Duncan has worked with Alex Dressler on a number of projects in recent years.
Louise Meincke, Advocacy Manager
Louise, a Human Rights Masters graduate from Sussex & LSE Universities with expertise in Child Rights, joined CSC in 2008 and is responsible for our lobbying and campaigning. She has previously worked with homeless young people in the UK and in Amnesty International Campaigns Department. Louise was runner-up for the Sheila McKechnie Foundation's 2006 'Economic Justice' award and is a Fellow of the RSA.
Leonora Borg, Fundraising and Partnerships Manager
Leonora (Leo) has volunteered and worked in the third sector in Bosnia, Peru and the UK since 1998, focusing on supporting children and young people. She joined CSC in November 2009 and is responsible for fundraising and partnerships whilst Kate is on maternity leave. She is currently a trustee for one of CSC's new members, Trust in Children.
Kate Bretherton, Fundraising Manager (currently on maternity leave)
Kate, is an English Language & Literature Masters graduate from Oxford University, has worked at management level in the third sector since 2004. She is also the Treasurer for one of CSC's members: Students Supporting Street Kids. Kate joined CSC in 2008 and is responsible for fundraising, finance and marketing. Prior to her work in the not-for-profit sector Kate was an award-winning travel journalist.
Our Trustees
Marcus Lyon, Chairman
Marcus was appointed Chairman of CSC in December 2008. He is a UK-based photographer, Ambassador for Photovoice, Director of Digital Links International and former Chairman of the International Children's Trust. He has won numerous awards for his work and his images and books are held in both private and international collections in UK and overseas.
After reading Politics at Leeds University, Marcus worked for Amnesty International in Guatemala. This led to numerous reportage projects on street children and child labour in Latin America, Africa and Asia with the JUCONI Foundation and the International Children's Trust. He has also spent considerable time documenting Paralympic sport. All Marcus' reportage work for CSC is undertaken on a pro bono basis.
President: Surina Narula, MBE
Surina is one of the founding members of the Consortium for Street Children. Has been Trustee, Co-Chair and is now President. She is Director on Board of Plan International UK, Patron of Plan India and Honorary Patron of Plan USA. Also a Patron of Hope of Children, Patron of Motiroti and past trustee of Pratham UK, Surina remains an active fundraiser and campaigner for street children worldwide.
Surinder (Max) Mongia, Trustee Max Mongia is Managing Director of Strongfield Technologies Ltd., a specialist supplier of High-tech components and equipment for Defence and Space applications. He has been a member of Lions Clubs International since 1982 and has served at all levels including District Governor during 2004/5. As Multinational Coordinator raised in excess of 9 million US dollars for the Lions Sight Project and is currently project Chair /Trustee for Lions Moorfields Korle Bu Ghana Eye Centre, a Teaching/Training Eye Hospital. Max was appointed as Ambassador of goodwill for Lions clubs international 2008-2009 - the highest recognition for a lion member for the work for humanitarian causes.
Ian Cain, Trustee
Ian is a Managing Director within British Gas, part of Centrica plc, heading up a significant proportion of its UK residential energy business, with responsibility for gas and electricity supply and services to some 6 million households. Ian leads a large team based across the UK and international locations and is proud of the team's achievement in putting great service from British Gas back on the map and earning its place in the Sunday Times Top 25 Best Companies to work for. Ian has a wealth of experience in the corporate world, having played lead roles in Customer Services, Transformation, Strategy, Marketing, Sales and Change Management.
Natalie Campbell, Trustee
Natalie is Special Projects Manager at Enterprise UK, a UK business giving people in the UK the confidence, skills and ambition to be enterprising. Natalie leads on the Virgin Media project to develop an online space for young entrepreneurs to network and share their start-up journey through video diaries. Previously Natalie was a trustee of the British Youth Council. She supports CSC with campaigning and developing internship recruitment procedures.
Jeremy Cox, Trustee
Jeremy works as a Financial Controller for Change Management Group. As a Chartered Accountant and having previously managed the finances of V2 Music Group, Jeremy has taken on the role of Treasurer for CSC.
Virginia Greenwood, Trustee
Ginny Greenwood has been a professional fundraiser for 19 years working with disadvantaged children and young people, arts organisations, national heritage, and the hospice movement. She has lead a £4m capital appeal at the Mulberry Bush Special Needs School, been a founder director of two charities - most notable the Hampstead & Highgate Festival, and as most recently development director of the Tricycle Theatre. Ginny has extensive experienced in securing funds from HNW individuals, corporates, trusts & foundations, membership schemes and events. She is a member of the Institute of Fundraisers; delivers workshops and mentors people new to the sector.
Julia Cook, Trustee
After studying Anthropology and Mandarin at Vassar, Julia explored Asia for a year and then moved to London to work for Ernst&Young where she worked as a management consultant for a number of years. She served in senior management roles with Walt Disney, brandfever.com and Tesco plc. Today she is the Managing Partner of The Change Management Group (CMG) - a consulting firm that she founded in 2000 that focuses on implementing transformation projects in the retailing, healthcare and consumer goods sectors. Recently she opened a retail consulting practice in Dubai.Cleo Perry, Trustee
Cleo Perry is a practicing barrister, who specializes in Child Protection. She also has experience of working in an international context, working briefly at the European Commission before beginning her career at the bar. She has traveled widely. She graduated from Cambridge University in 1998, was a Gray's Inn Scholar in 1999 and was called to the bar in 2000.
Victoria Dunne, Trustee
Victoria works for the UK Government. She joined CSC in 2010 and has expertise in developing strategy; previously she was a trustee of the British Youth Council.Frida Williams, Trustee
Frida works for strategic consultancy Champolion focusing on Third Sector advice and support on campaigning and media engagement. She works with some of CSC's members and also has working knowledge of parliamentary processes.
"Individual agencies are too small or lack the credibility to speak on behalf of street children.
The Consortium for Street Children has legitimacy, as a consortium, to speak as the voice rather than a voice of street children where individual agencies do not."
